Originally from Nashville, Indiana, Stella Brumett is a contemporary film composer and arranger. Her unique background in jazz shines through her film music as a fresh approach to scoring. She grew up playing alto saxophone, and still loves to play and perform.
Over the summer, Stella moved to Spain to intern under Lucas Vidal (Fast and Furious 6, The Deliverance), and worked on projects such as El Otro Chiquito and La Acusación. In the spring, she interned for the renowned jazz pianist Tamir Hendelman, giving her an introduction to assisting and managing a professional artist.
Stella has arranged for student orchestras, multiple ensembles, and more. She has arranging experience from a capella ensembles to jazz combos to full orchestras. As a double major, intern, and part-time waitress, hard work and dedication are two of her core values.
Stella is a double major at Berklee College of Music, studying Film/Media scoring and Contemporary Writing/Production. In addition to her passion for film and jazz, Stella has a love for travel and world music. She’s arranged for and played in several world music ensembles at Berklee, and studied abroad at Berklee’s Valencia campus in Spain. She will be moving to Los Angeles in the summer and is thrilled to be starting her career.
